A platform for the trade of medicinal raw materials utilized in traditional Chinese medicine between Xinjiang and the Central Asian nations has been implemented
In the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China, a new platform has been launched to facilitate the import and export of medicinal raw materials employed in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). According to a report by Xinhua News Agency citing local media, this initiative is intended to streamline trade processes between Xinjiang and the countries of Central Asia, thereby fostering the development of cooperation within the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
The platform digitizes trade channels, consequently leading to a significant reduction in both time and logistical expenses. This new platform will enable the overcoming of geographical limitations and the expansion of sales avenues.
The platform also encompasses an intelligent warehouse spanning 20,000 square meters and a facility for the processing and testing of TCM medicinal raw materials, possessing an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons. This aids in the effective management of supplies originating from Xinjiang and the Central Asian countries.
As noted by Chen Jincheng, Chairman of the Xinjiang Pharmaceutical Industry Association, Xinjiang possesses abundant resources of medicinal raw materials utilized in traditional Chinese medicine.
