Afghanistan strengthens the security of international projects

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Afghanistan and a number of government agencies of the IRA have developed a comprehensive plan to ensure the safety of large infrastructure projects, TOLOnews reports. Their list includes such international projects as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, CASA-1000 power transmission lines, and others. Also, the competent authorities have developed public awareness programs aimed at explaining the economic significance for the population of the constructed facilities. The laying of the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline is scheduled for the second half of February. Recently, representatives of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum Industry of Afghanistan announced their intention to build a gas turbine power plant near the industrial zone in the city of Herat, which should begin work thanks to the Turkmen "blue fuel "and produce at least 100 megawatts of electricity per year. Plans for the construction of gas distribution centers along the TAPI pipeline have also been developed. The number and scale of international infrastructure projects on the territory of Afghanistan can provide thousands of jobs, the creation of which was called one of the fundamental factors for stabilizing the situation in the country during held in November 2017 in Ashgabat, 7th Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation in Afghanistan (RECCA VII).
