South Korea plans to introduce a new "top tier visa" for specialists in the field of high technology, which will be a significant step in attracting foreign professionals to key sectors of the economy. This is reported by The Korea Times newspaper.

This initiative aims to improve conditions for foreign specialists working in areas such as semiconductors and batteries for electric vehicles.

The program will be launched this month and will provide an accelerated visa process, as well as stable residency for foreign workers and their families.

Eligible specialists and their family members can obtain an F-2 visa, which grants the right to work in South Korea for three years with the possibility of subsequently obtaining permanent residency. Visa applicants must have at least eight years of work experience, including three years at one of the world's 500 largest companies, as well as a degree from one of the world's top 100 universities. Annual remuneration must be at least 140 million won (approximately US$96,000).

In addition, the South Korean government plans to introduce a "youth dream visa". The D-10 visa will be issued to graduates of leading university science programs. It will allow them to freely seek employment opportunities here for two years.
