The Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), which is being built ahead of the planned schedule, is 80% equipped. This was reported by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Berat Albayrak, Turkish media reported. Earlier it was reported that TANAP will be xonstructed in 2020, and its initial capacity will allow to annually deliver from Azerbaijan to the EU countries up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas. TANAP, going through the territory of Turkey, is the central link of the Southern Gas Corridor, which will transport gas from the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline (SCP) to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) passing through the EU countries. Considering the cost of the gas pipeline at $ 7.9 billion, investors from European and Asian banks, as well as high-ranking EU representatives express the hope for participation in the Turkmenistan project, since it is Turkmen "blue fuel" that will increase the profitability of the TANAP project and contribute to the diversification of gas supplies to Europe. All the countries on the territory of which the gas pipeline will be laid are interested in Turkmenistan as a participant of the project, as the transit of gas will bring them significant dividends. Taking into account the agreements of the Caspian states on the signing of the Caspian Convention in the spring of this year, the possibility of starting the supply of Turkmen gas to the EU through the pipelines of SCP, TANAP and TAP has multiplied.Eziz OVEZOV
