Delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan paid a working visit to Qatar
A delegation of the Turkmen Parliament paid a working visit to Doha on February 25-26 to participate in a meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari inter-parliamentary friendship group.
On the first day of the working visit, a meeting of members of the Turkmen delegation with editor-in-chief of the Al Sharq newspaper Jaber Salem Al-Harmi took place with the participation of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, it was noted that thanks to the efforts of the leaders of Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar, bilateral cooperation between the two countries is actively developing, including the creation of new opportunities for effective parliamentary interaction.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's initiatives to strengthen the foundations of peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world, support for each other's initiatives within the UN and other authoritative international organizations, the website of the Mejlis reports.
As part of the visit, on Wednesday, a meeting was held between members of the delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, who highly appreciated the role of the Friendship Group in strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries.
Al Ghanim expressed hope that this visit will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, strengthening coordination and consultation mechanisms.
At the meeting of the parliamentary friendship groups between the State of Qatar and Turkmenistan, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides were discussed and views were exchanged on a number of issues of common interest.
