Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey intensify cooperation in the education system
On February 24, 2025, a Turkmen delegation, led by the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamurat Gurbangeldiyev, met with the Chairman of the Higher Education Organization of the Republic of Turkey, Erol Ozvar.
The parties discussed matters concerning the further development of cooperation between the higher education institutions of the two countries.
The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, noted that, thanks to the far-sighted state policy of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, work is underway in the country to improve the education system, introduce advanced teaching methods, scientific achievements, and innovative technologies into the educational process.
In this context, it was emphasized that the exchange of experience with Turkish universities in the field of science and education will contribute to the development of the professional capabilities of the younger generation.
During the discussions, the necessity of coordinated efforts in studying the experience of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center of the Republic of Turkey, and the implementation of the "Environmentally Friendly Educational Module" project in collaboration with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University of the Republic of Turkey, was highlighted. Furthermore, proposals to intensify cooperation between Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the Social Sciences University of Turkey were approved. The fields of specialization of students from Turkmenistan studying in Turkey, their academic performance, and the improvement of their social and living conditions were considered. Issues related to the provision of student places to citizens of Turkmenistan by the Higher Education Organization of the Republic of Turkey, and the study of the experience of IT centers and technology parks operating in the universities of both countries were also discussed.
Erol Ozvar expressed support for the aforementioned initiatives and demonstrated interest in establishing cooperation between the universities of the two countries at the highest level.
