A four-day training session on the BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections) methodology was held in Turkmenistan. The BRIDGE methodology employs an interactive approach, including group exercises, the analysis of practical case studies, and the completion of practical assignments, thereby contributing to the enhancement of qualifications and the deepening of participants' knowledge in the field of electoral process organization.

The training was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan (CEC), within the framework of the joint project "Assistance in Strengthening the Capacity of the Central Election Commission for Holding Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan". The training's theme was "Introduction to Election Administration".

The training was conducted by internationally accredited BRIDGE methodology experts, Natia Kashakashvili and Shalva Tskhakaya. The event brought together representatives from the CEC, regional election commissions, election bodies from the Ashgabat city and Arkadag city, as well as representatives from political parties and the media.

Over the course of the four-day training, participants examined key aspects of the electoral process, including the electoral cycle, election planning, internationally recognized standards and principles for conducting elections, models of electoral bodies, and the use of electronic technologies in voter registration systems. A dedicated session was devoted to issues of gender equality in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and gender-sensitive election administration.

"BRIDGE training provides electoral administrators with the key skills and knowledge necessary to enhance the efficiency and transparency of electoral processes" — noted Tomica Paovic, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Turkmenistan, in his opening remarks.
