Caspian Sea Day in Avaza
The Caspian Sea Day was widely celebrated in the Avaza National tourism zone.
Ecologists, specialists of environmental structures and agencies, who closely work with on the Caspian Sea issues as well as the representatives of the diplomatic missions and international organisations, accredited in our country, discussed the problems of the Caspian Sea protection during a scientific conference.
Meanwhile, children draw the landscapes depicting the beauty of the native land, the Caspian Sea waters and the unique world of its inhabitants.
In the afternoon, children and adults gathered together in the conference hall of the Dayanch Hotel to attend the ceremony of awarding the winners of the children’s contest dedicated to the sea and littoral nature.
The Turkmenbashi Local History Museum organized the exposition of its exhibits on the Caspian Sea Day and the Dayanch children’s recreation centre hosted the football, volleyball, tennis and other sports contests among schoolchildren from Turkmenbashi as well as young holiday-makers.
The Caspian Sea Day finished with the concert performed by the children’s artistic groups from the littoral region. The concert programme included the national dances and songs of the Caspian states.
The Caspian Sea is of particular importance for the countries in the region. Even those countries that have access to other seas and oceans, agree that nothing can replace the Caspian Sea. In fact, to this day, politicians, legal experts and ecologists break lane on if the Caspian Sea is a small sea or a big lake. Turkmenistan has a clear position on this issue – to preserve and hand over this unique sea-lake to the following generations. In order to do this, the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea annually celebrates the Caspian Sea Day.
