Turkmenistan will host the World Track Cycling Championships in October 2021
The World Track Cycling Championship will be held in Ashgabat on October 13-17, 2021. In accordance with the decision taken by the Turkmen Government, the world championship will take place on the specified dates at the cycle track sports complex of the Olympic Park in the capital city of Turkmenistan. It will be held jointly by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy and the Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan, and the International Cyclists’ Union. Turkmenistan pays great attention to development of professional cycling and bicycle traffic in the country as an environmentally friendly transport. In April 2018, on the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly established World Bicycle Day which is celebrated annually on June 3.
