Kyrgyzstan to activate cooperation with Google in digital education


An important step in the modernization of the education system of Kyrgyzstan and the introduction of digital technologies into the educational process was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and Google Ireland Limited in April 2024. Specific steps for its implementation were discussed recently by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymalyyev during a working trip to the United Arab Emirates, where negotiations were held with representatives of the technology company Google. The meeting was attended by the global director of Google for Education Timothy Paolini and other representatives of the company.
According to a report on the website of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that digitalization is one of the priority areas of state policy, and cooperation with technology leaders such as Google opens up new opportunities for the country. In turn, Google representatives expressed their readiness to strengthen further cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of partnership in the field of digital transformation of the educational system. Particular attention was paid to the creation of jobs in the IT sector, support for startups, training specialists in the field of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
