Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov agreed to intensify bilateral contacts
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation held a telephone conversation on Friday, February 14. Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov discussed cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular within the framework of the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The ministers agreed to intensify bilateral contacts and hold regular meetings and consultations at the level of foreign ministries. During the meeting, the importance of the International Year of Peace and Trust was emphasized, and the events planned for the year with the participation of Turkmenistan and Russia, including on the UN platform, were discussed in detail.
The heads of foreign ministries made a special emphasis on the further development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Russia, as noted on the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
