Ambassador of Turkey to Turkmenistan: Turkmen gas supplies to Turkey to begin in March
Turkmenistan will start supplying natural gas to Turkey from March 1. This was announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok today during a press conference.
"As you know, we started this week with good news regarding cooperation between Turkmenistan and Turkey. From March 1, Turkmen gas will start flowing to Turkey. I believe that this historic step will become another foundation for strengthening cooperation between our countries. Taking this opportunity, I congratulate everyone on this event", the Ambassador said.
Let us recall that the Turkmen side agreed on the transit of its gas through Iran under the SWAP scheme with the Turkish oil and gas company BOTAŞ. This was reported by the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a telephone conversation with the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
