The ancient folk dance kushtdepdi enjoys great popularity not only among professional and amateur groups in Turkmenistan but also arouses interest among foreign artists. This dynamic and distinctive dance was included in the program of a large concert by the ethno-folk ensemble "Turan" which presented its new project "Tamyr" on February 6, 2025, on the stage of the E. The "Tamyr" project brought together not only musicians from the "Turan" ensemble but also dance groups "Gulder" "Saltanat" "Alem" as well as participants from the Kazakh National Musical Drama Theater named after K. Kuanyshbaev. Music, dance, and theatrical elements were harmoniously intertwined in this unique musical and theatrical show, immersing the audience in the atmosphere of nomadic civilization, revealing the origins of the Turkic-speaking peoples and the mythological worldview of their ancestors.

During the concert, works were performed on more than 30 national musical instruments representing various peoples of the Turkic world, including Kazakhs, Turkmens, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Azerbaijanis, Turks, Hungarians, and Sakha. The audience not only enjoyed the unique sound of the instruments but also felt the spirit of unity and diversity of cultures united by common roots.

The ethno-folk ensemble "Turan" was created in 2008 by graduates of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. It consists of talented musicians-multi-instrumentalists who master dozens of folk instruments.
