Government delegation of Turkmenistan is on a working visit to Tehran
A Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov arrived on February 11 on a working visit to the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran.
On the same day, the Turkmen delegation met with the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the IRI, Head of the Transport Industry and Development Company Khushang Bazvand, reported the press service of MFA.
During the meeting, the parties noted the positive experience of cooperation, including the participation of Iranian companies in road construction projects in Turkmenistan. The parties considered the implementation of agreements, in particular, those reached following the recent meetings of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
Then, a meeting was held with the Minister of Petroleum of Iran Mohsen Paknejad. During the discussions, topical issues and prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector were touched upon. It was stated that there are great opportunities for realizing the potential of the two friendly countries.
In addition, the Turkmen delegation held a meeting with Minister of Energy of Iran Abbas Aliabadi. The parties noted the effectiveness of the negotiations held during the past year and confirmed the commitment of the two countries to intensify cooperation. During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation in the field of electric power, rational use of water resources were discussed.
