Italian Design Day to be held in Ashgabat
From February 12th to 14th, Ashgabat will host Italian Design Day—an annual event organized by the Embassy of Italy in Turkmenistan. The event aims to promote Italian design art, innovation, and creative solutions, showcasing the unique blend of craftsmanship, tradition, and contemporary vision that makes Italian design recognized worldwide.
The event will feature seminars and lectures for students, designers, and professionals in the fields of architecture and design. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss key trends, explore the latest approaches, and gain practical knowledge of how design shapes the future. A special guest at this event will be Leandro Scalco, the leading luxury interior designer of the "Modenese Gastone Interiors Srl" brand.
He will deliver presentations at the Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, sharing his expert opinion on current trends in interior design and innovative solutions in the field of design.
The theme of this year's Italian Design Day is "Inequality. Design for a Better Life". It emphasizes the role of design in addressing social problems and creating a more inclusive and sustainable environment. The main focus will be on accessibility, equal opportunities, and environmental responsibility.
In addition, the event in Ashgabat will be part of a global initiative taking place in various countries around the world, where experts discuss the impact of design on society and its role in shaping the future. The event will also feature information about the 63rd "Salone del Mobile" exhibition, which will take place from April 8th to 13th, 2025, in Milan and is one of the world's largest events in the field of design and furniture production.
