The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia organized a sports tournament in honor of the motto of the year
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia organized a friendly football match in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust".
The event was attended by members of the Malaysian Parliament, heads of diplomatic missions in Malaysia, and media representatives.
In his address to the participants of the sports event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, M. Mashalov, spoke about Turkmenistan's priorities for the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and the planned activities for the year. Notably, in December of this year, an international forum will be held in Ashgabat to mark the 30th anniversary of the permanent neutrality status of Turkmenistan.
Members of the diplomatic missions accredited in Malaysia noted that the unanimous adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution, initiated by Turkmenistan, declaring 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust", is a clear demonstration of recognition for Turkmenistan’s efforts aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.
The friendly football match between members of the Malaysian Parliament and heads of diplomatic missions in Malaysia ended with a 5-3 victory for the diplomatic corps.
At the conclusion of the friendly event, participants were presented with special sports uniforms featuring the year’s emblem by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia. Guests were also treated to dishes from Turkmen cuisine.
