During a videoconference between the customs services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, a decision was made to further increase the capacity of the "Farap Avtoyollary-Alat" border crossing point. The parties agreed on joint measures to optimize customs procedures and exchange experiences.

At the videoconference on February 4, the parties discussed proposals from both sides on the matter. It was noted that following the recent reconstruction of the "Farap Avtoyollary" crossing point, there has been an increase in the number of vehicles passing through it. Moreover, there is potential to further boost this figure, which became the subject of discussion between the customs officials of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

To address issues promptly at the "Farap Avtoyollary-Alat" crossing point, the parties agreed to appoint responsible officials, organize regular meetings, and conduct training events for participants in Uzbekistan's foreign economic activities to familiarize them with the pre-declaration mechanism, which was launched in Turkmenistan in June 2024.
