Emergency landing: Passenger doctors assisted in childbirth mid-flight over Greenland

Uzbekistan Airways reported that during a flight from Tashkent (TAS) to New York (JFK), one of the passengers went into labor. Upon assessing the emergency situation, the crew made an announcement over the intercom, requesting any doctors on board to come forward and provide urgent assistance. Fortunately, among the passengers were an obstetrician and a surgeon, who helped the mother deliver a baby boy.

While flying over Greenland, the crew decided to divert to an alternate airport along the route, landing in Reykjavik-Keflavik (KEF), Iceland. After a safe landing, medical personnel boarded the aircraft to offer the necessary assistance. The mother and newborn were then transported to a local clinic.
