The President of Turkmenistan opened a new infectious hospital in Akhal
Today, a new infectious diseases hospital has been opened in the Akhal region with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. A high-tech 200-bed clinic, built by a local company in the village of Yzgant (Geoktepe district).
The Head of state cut the ribbon at the entrance and visited several departments of the hospital, inspected their equipment, and talked with doctors.
The medical institution has departments for functional diagnostics, viral hepatitis, infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract, intestinal infections, especially dangerous infectious diseases transmitted by airborne droplets, and a laboratory.
Here, Departments of Surgery, Resuscitation and Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Dispensary are also equipped. In addition to single and double rooms for patients, there are individual boxes with a separate ventilation system from the general one.
Specialists of the new hospital have the latest medical devices, installations and tools from well-known manufacturers in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Mr. Berdimuhamedov visited the Resuscitation and Midwifery Department, then examined the operating room – the hospital can provide surgical care and deliver babies without the need to transfer the patient to another institution.
The procurement of the new infectious hospital includes devices for extracorporeal blood purification, ALV, laparoscopes, medical monitoring stations, and various diagnostic devices.
Among the new products is the Flow-i Swiss anesthesia-respiratory apparatus, which allows the anesthesiologist to provide the best ventilation opportunities throughout the entire operating period – before, during and after surgery – for all groups of patients from newborns and children to adults, including patients with severe pulmonary pathology.
In the hospital’s laboratory, the President was shown an extensive range of biochemical, bacteriological, molecular genetics and immunological analyzers, a PCR diagnostic complex for detecting infectious agents and viruses, including COVID-19. In addition, there is a system of rapid testing to determine the set of indicators.
The head of state said that all country’s medical institutions are and will be equipped with the latest apparatus, noting that modern medical technologies also require new competencies from the staff. And as before Turkmen doctors will be sent for training in the world’s best clinics as soon as it becomes possible after the lifting of restrictions on international traffic.
