Donald Trump held his first telephone conversation as president with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. This country may be chosen by the American president as the first for a visit.

Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, became the first foreign leader to hold a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump after his return to the White House.

The Saudi News Agency reported that "the prince confirmed the kingdom's intention to expand investment and trade with the United States over the next four years by 600 billion dollars, and potentially by a larger amount".

According to this media outlet, the two leaders also discussed ways of cooperation to promote peace, stability and security in the Middle East.
