Conceptual notes on climate change have been presented in Turkmenistan
A round table was organized within the framework of the project "Advancing a National Adaptation Planning Process in Turkmenistan", implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the round table was to present conceptual notes on climate change-related topics.
These climate notes will be submitted to the Green Climate Fund.
The round table was attended by climate change experts, development partners, and representatives from various sectors.
Participants were acquainted with two conceptual notes, which emphasized their alignment with national climate change adaptation strategies and the Green Climate Fund's investment priorities. They also address priority areas, including climate services and adaptation, and enhancing ecosystem resilience to the effects of climate change.
The overall objective of the "Advancing a National Adaptation Planning Process in Turkmenistan" project is to strengthen Turkmenistan's adaptation and resilience capacity by developing a National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
