In the Astrakhan region, a logistics center of Turkmenistan is planned
A joint project between Russia and Turkmenistan will operate on the basis of a port special economic zone (SEZ). The states are interested in establishing a shipping line between Astrakhan ports and the Turkmenbashy port.
"It is necessary to ensure 100 percent cargo loading of these projects. In this regard, we have agreed with our Turkmen partners to hold a large business forum this year with the participation of entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan", said Vladimir Golovkov, Minister of Foreign Relations of the Astrakhan Region.
The international forum will be held in Astrakhan. At the forum, entrepreneurs will be able to discuss joint projects and conclude contracts. Representatives from other regions of Russia will also be invited to the negotiations.
In addition, the Astrakhan Region is developing logistics activities with Iran. A joint company is operating, transporting cargo. Currently, the parties are planning the implementation of new projects.
