Turkmenistan and Russia discussed strengthening their strategic partnership and holding major events
On January 21st, a meeting took place between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, E.M. Aydogdyev, and the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, G.B. Karasin.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of plans for joint events for the current year.
The importance of the initiative put forward by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, G.M. Berdimuhamedov, to hold the Forum of Dialogue of Women of Central Asian States and Russia in Turkmenistan this year was noted.
The implementation of this initiative will make a significant contribution to strengthening peace and stability, developing good neighborly relations and cooperation between the states of Central Asia and Russia, and will emphasize the special role of women in promoting values traditional for our countries and regions.
The parties emphasized the high level of trust and mutual understanding that has developed in relations between the two countries. The meetings and agreements of the Heads of the two states play a key role in the development of these relations, which are of a strategic partnership nature.
The meeting touched upon issues of preparation for the holding of the "International Year of Peace and Trust" in Turkmenistan and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality. The Concept of Turkmenistan's activities and priorities within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust was presented in detail. During the year, a number of major events dedicated to this event are planned to be held in Turkmenistan and abroad, the culmination of which should be a Conference with the participation of heads of state in December.
