On January 7, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The parties noted the importance of the meeting at the beginning of the year, declared on the initiative of Turkmenistan as the International Year of Peace and Trust during the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly on March 21, 2024.
In this regard, it was noted that Turkmenistan intends to cooperate with international partners in holding events in tune with the spirit of the International Year of Peace and Trust, in particular with Uzbekistan.
In addition, an exchange of views took place on the further development of bilateral ties in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
