President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev over the death of passengers and crew of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed in the Mangistau region. This was reported in the evening news of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

As reported in the media, as a result of the crash of the Embraer 190 passenger plane on December 25, 2024, flying from Baku to Grozny (Russian Federation), there are numerous casualties.

By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, mourning was declared on December 26, 2024 in the territory of the republic.

In the morning of December 25, the Embraer 190 plane number J2-824 gave an emergency signal while over the Caspian Sea. Information about this was received at 11:00 in the regional Department of Emergency Situations. Later it became known about the emergency landing of the plane 3 kilometers from the city of Aktau.

It is noted that there were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board the plane. According to the latest data, 32 people survived the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane and are undergoing treatment.
