The online forum “Show a Happy Yulin by Desertification Control and Green Land Restoration” was attended by representatives of foreign media from 20 countries. Experts shared their experience in combating desertification and the results of poverty eradication in Yulin Area, which is located in the north of Shaanxi Province.
Due to its geographic location and environmental vulnerability, Yulin has been constantly facing many challenges.
But following the actions taken from 2014 to 2019, the standard of wellbeing increased for almost half a million people.
Such result was achieved through efforts to green the region, and the development of the energy and chemical industries at the same time.
Representatives of Sichuan Province also spoke about the history of the development of Ganzi Prefecture.
The experience of Yulin and Ganzi can be a good example for development of other regions in China and in other countries.
