On December 12, Ashgabat hosted significant diplomatic meetings dedicated to the development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Switzerland and Sweden. These events became an important part of the celebration of Neutrality Day, and their results underscore the desire to strengthen international cooperation.

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Turkmenistan, with residence in Baku, Thomas Stähli. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The meeting concluded with the signing of two key agreements: on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports and on the readmission of persons residing without permission.
