Best professionals and amateurs from Turkmenistan – at the 1st International FERULA PhotoSalon

The 1st International Photo Contest in Turkmenistan, organized by the Turkmen Ferula Photo Club with the support of IS (International Salon) completed. The competition was held under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). The level of applications was excellent, which makes the competition both exciting and challenging for the jury. The competition was attended by 314 participants, works came from Austria, Belgium, Germany, India, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Finland, USA … A total of 4,738 entries were received from 38 countries. And the results are amazing. Eight Turkmen authors reached the final part of the judging, where they gained 3 medals and 4 prizes – honorary ribbons. [caption id="attachment_57524" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Shikhliev Begench, Turkmenistan, Jury S.Majorov Chaise[/caption] The photo contest was evaluated by the jury – highly qualified photographers with enduring practice, who have the title of outstanding master of FIAP ( EFIAP): S.Mayorov, V. Sarkisyan, S. Anisimov. In connection with the pandemic, the award panel evaluated photos online: from Moscow, Ashgabat and Penza. [caption id="attachment_57525" align="aligncenter" width="900"] Alina Tolstichina PSA gold Turkmenistan[/caption] Works were assessed in four categories – free color photography, free black and white photography, travel and street photography. During 3 days, there were viewed 4,738 photos and selected in each category top 100 best works 17 of which were awarded the FIAP, PSA, IS awards in each section. The Ashgabat Ferula Photo Club also awarded 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Two authors from Turkmenistan – Begench Shihliev and Alina Tolstihina – received the gold medals of PSA. Shihliev also received a medal from jury S.Mayorov – FIAP Commissioner of Russia, and Tolstihina was awarded the FIAP ribbon of honor.
