Ankara hosted an international scientific and practical conference in honor of significant events in Turkmenistan
On December 5, 2024, Ankara hosted an international scientific and practical conference "The Concept of Peace of Makhtumkuli Fragi and the Diplomacy of Neutral Turkmenistan", dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and poet of the East Makhtumkuli Fragi and the celebration of the 29th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, as well as the presentation of a new edition of selected poems of Makhtumkuli Fragi, translated into Turkish.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, with the support of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the Eurasian Association of Economic Relations (EkoAvrasya).
The event was attended by heads of several ministries and departments of Türkiye, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and socio-political organizations, the creative and scientific community, the Turkmen diaspora, student youth and the media.
Speakers at the conference emphasized that the humanistic principles in the works of Makhtumkuli are of great importance for bringing countries and peoples closer together. The poet's work occupies a special place not only in Turkmen literature, but is also a treasure of world culture. According to the participants of the event, meetings of this kind serve as a vivid example of the expansion of cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
Then, a presentation ceremony of the book by Makhtumkuli Fragi, published in Turkish, took place.
In addition, as part of the presentation, representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan presented valuable gifts and certificates of gratitude to the participants for their active work in holding many events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fragi, which took place in the Republic of Türkiye this year.
Then, the conference participants made speeches, during which they noted the regional and global role of Turkmenistan's neutral status, recognized by the entire international community.
As part of the event, an exhibition and a video screening about Turkmenistan's achievements over the years of independence were organized.
