The newly published study guide is titled “The Sonata Form in the Instrumental Works of Turkmen Composers” (author: R. Amangeldiyev, published by the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan). It highlights the uniqueness, diversity, and significance of Turkmen composers’ creativity and its place in musicology.

The importance of studying musical forms in musicology is emphasized. Over centuries, this area has evolved significantly. As evidenced by the history of world musical culture, the sonata form is distinguished by its dynamic internal movement, dramatic development, and structural integrity.

The guide provides an in-depth analysis of the classical-romantic sonata form in the works of Turkmen composers, focusing on efforts to enrich this form. It explores the use of sonata form in various structures and tonal systems, as well as its departure from classical-romantic traditions in the works of the late 20th century.

The study guide is intended for students and teachers of higher and specialized music and art schools, as well as for a broader audience interested in music.
