Representatives of the education system of Turkmenistan, including Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University for the Humanities and Development, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, and the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan, are on a business trip to the United States to participate in the "Managing Higher Education Institutions: Collaboration and Commercialization" training sessions, which are organized in December as part of the U.S. Department of State's "International Visitor Leadership Program" (IVLP).

On December 2, 2024, a meeting was held at the International Education Institute in Washington, D.C., with the participation of State Department official Ms. Chikita Jackson, Program Director of the International Education Institute Mr. Chris Hill, and Program Coordinator Ms. Sierra DePalmo. The participants were thoroughly introduced to the content of the training to be organized for the Turkmen delegation, and the possibility of adding additional activities to the program based on the participants' preferences was discussed. To get to know the participants more deeply, each of them was given the opportunity to speak. The members of the Turkmen delegation provided the American side with a detailed introduction to the work areas of their respective institutions and the goals set for the future.

In the afternoon of the same day, a briefing on Federalism was conducted by Professor Diane Lowenthal from an American university to help the Turkmen delegation gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. governmental structure. The briefing provided a detailed explanation of the U.S. system of government, specifically highlighting the division of power between the federal government (central government) and individual states. It was emphasized that this division allows states to maintain a certain degree of autonomy and control over many issues that do not affect the entire country, as well as the unique characteristics of the electoral system in the U.S.
