President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a law amending the migration legislation and enshrining the status of "digital nomad".

The law is designed to attract highly qualified IT specialists, promote the development of innovative projects and high-tech industries, and create jobs.

The categories of foreign citizens who can apply for the status of "Digital Nomad", their rights and obligations, as well as the procedure for obtaining the status and the conditions of stay for them and their close relatives will be determined by a separate decision of the government of the republic.

Digital nomads will be exempt from mandatory registration at the place of stay; will receive an individual identification number; the right to entrepreneurial activity and the ability to open bank accounts. They will also be exempt from the need to obtain a work permit.
