The Istanbul Energy Forum, which brought together key players in the global energy market, became a platform for discussing strategic issues of ensuring energy security, independence and sustainable development. The forum, held on November 22 under the motto "Common Future, Common Goals", opened with a speech by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who emphasized the need to fully utilize the country's potential in the energy sector.

Keynote speeches

Turkey's energy independence: President Erdogan said that the quest for energy independence requires mobilizing all resources, from oil and gas to wind and solar energy.

Energy security as a priority: Erdogan noted that the energy crises of recent years have reminded us of the key role of energy security in sustainable economic development.

Climate goals: Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar emphasized that Turkey aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2053, while reducing its dependence on energy imports.

Global Cooperation and Innovation

The forum also became a platform for strengthening international cooperation. Ministers from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, Uzbekistan and other countries, as well as representatives of international companies and experts took part. Particular attention was paid to joint projects that contribute not only to economic development, but also to the energy security of the region.

Energy is considered not only as an economic driver, but also as a tool for establishing peace, which reflects the overall goal of the forum - to unite efforts to address global energy challenges.

Within the framework of the forum, a meeting was held between State Minister of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Maksat Babayev and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar, who discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.

We also assessed joint projects that can be implemented with our national companies BOTAŞ and TPAO at the oil and natural gas fields of Turkmenistan".
