The international forum “Turkmentel-2024” opens horizons for a digital future
The International Forum on Telecommunications, Telemetry, Information Technologies, and Broadcasting Equipment - “Turkmentel-2024” - opened in Ashgabat on Thursday, 14 November, at the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This year, the forum, which combines an exhibition and a conference, is being held for the 17th time. The experience accumulated by its organizers allows this event to be presented as a major industry gathering of high professional standards, aimed at discussing global technological progress and the changing landscape of telecommunications in the context of a digital future.
The official opening ceremony of the XVII International Exhibition “Turkmentel-2024” was attended by representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, embassies, and international organizations.
A greeting from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the forum was read by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyyev.
Following the opening, the guests had the opportunity to explore the exhibitor stands. More than 200 representatives from over 80 companies, organizations, and government agencies from 30 countries gathered at the congress and exhibition venue of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participating countries included China, Russia, the United States, Turkey, the Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, the Republic of Korea, India, Belarus, Ukraine, Israel, the UAE, Singapore, Lebanon, Malaysia, as well as neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan.
At the exhibition, visitors can see stands from global brands such as Apple, Huawei, Nokia, Motorola, and Thales. Of course, Turkmenistan is also presenting its capabilities in the IT sector and modern communications. The largest pavilion at the exhibition was set up by the “Turkmencommunications” («Türkmenaragatnaşyk») agency. Among the local exhibitors are OJSC “Ashgabat City Telephone Network”, the mobile operator “Altyn Asyr”, which provides services under the brand “TM CELL”, the postal operator “Turkmenpost”, as well as companies like “Aýdyň Gijeler”, “Nurly Tolkun”, “Belet”, “Sanly Çözgüt”, and many others.
In the afternoon, the “Turkmentel-2024” scientific conference will begin. Scientists, experts, business leaders, and regulators will discuss the development of international cooperation in areas such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, the future of communications, satellite technologies, and issues related to the national strategy for digital development.
During the forum on Saturday, the results of the “Digital Solution-2024” innovation competition will be announced, where the best young developers will have the opportunity to demonstarte their digital products to the business community.
The event will also feature meetings between state and private enterprises from Turkmenistan and foreign companies.
