"I am especially happy to be here, next to the stand of the “Türkmenaragatnashyk” agency, with which we have been working very closely for two years, as a strategic partner in the creation of the country's e-government", said the UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan, Narine Saakyan, during an interview with ORIENT at the “Turkmentel-2024” exhibition.

"Today, we presented a demo version of the basics of e-government as one stage of our joint project with the agency. I hope that by the middle of next year, we will launch the interagency electronic interaction system, connecting 10 ministries in Turkmenistan, and then “Türkmenaragatnashyk” will connect another ten to this platform", added Narine Saakyan.

Continuing the conversation about cooperation with Turkmenistan in various sectors, she mentioned the recent visit of the UNDP delegation to the Dashoguz velayat.

Narine Saakyan highlighted the busy program of the visit, which included meetings with local government officials and several other events. She particularly emphasized the eco-festival, where children and youth presented innovative solutions to environmental problems.

"Since the Dashoguz region is particularly affected by the Aral crisis, we are actively working in this area", emphasized Narine Saakyan, also noting cooperation with nature reserves, which includes training specialists and creating protected areas, enclosures, guard posts, and forest belts. She also highly praised the initiative of the local youth in environmental protection issues. Lebap is next on the UNDP work plan for regular visits to the country's regions. "We also have a lot of joint work there", - added Narine Saakyan.
