Turkmenistan hosts international tennis tournament Ashgabat Open 2024
Today, November 11, the opening ceremony of the international tennis tournament Ashgabat Open 2024 among boys and girls up to 14 years old took place in the Turkmen capital.
The event was held in the Tennis Complex of the Olympic City, and the opening of the tournament was marked by bright performances of young performers from Turkmenistan.
The competition, which will last until November 17, brought together talented tennis players from 12 countries. Among them are players from Turkmenistan, Great Britain, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Jordan, Malaysia, UAE, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The tournament was organized with the support of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Physical Culture and Sports and the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.
Ilima Huseynova is the main favorite of the tournament in the national team of Turkmenistan
It is important to note that the Turkmen national team at the tournament is represented by young and talented players. Tennis player Ilima Huseynova, who is one of the strongest sportswomen of Turkmenistan and the whole Asian region, attracts special attention at the tournament. She is currently ranked 4th in the rating of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), which makes her a favorite of the tournament in Ashgabat. Ilima continues to improve her game under the guidance of her experienced mentor Uma Hummetova.
It is worth noting that Huseynova has shown outstanding results in the international arena this year. In October, she won two gold medals at the 3rd Asian Junior Tournament in Qatar, winning both singles and doubles. In August, she was the silver medalist at the Selangor Asian 14 & Under Grade A (Southeast Asia) international doubles tournament in Malaysia. And in July, Ilima won silver at the ATF 14 & Under singles tournament in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
Ashgabat Open 2024 will be an important milestone in the young tennis player's career and she will start her performances on November 12.
