Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of importing natural gas from Turkmenistan. This is reported by the news agency LS.

According to the national gas company of Kazakhstan “QazaqGaz”, the volume of supplies will be determined by the parties taking into account commercial and technical conditions.

As part of the cooperation with the State Concern "Turkmengas," several initiatives are being explored.

In particular, discussions are planned regarding promising areas for joint geological exploration between the two countries. Further work in this direction will require the signing of appropriate investment agreements.

Currently, the domestic market in Kazakhstan is supplied with local resources. Only in the period of peak consumption is imported resource.

Earlier, the head of “QazaqGaz” Sanzhar Zharkeshov noted that gas consumption in Kazakhstan could double in the next 10-15 years.
