Cristiano Ronaldo was diagnosed with coronavirus


Portugal and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo had positive coronavirus test, the Portuguese Football Federation reported. The 35-year-old footballer is “doing well, symptom-free and isolated”, the PFF statement says.
Portugal will meet Sweden in the Nations League group match on Wednesday. The rest of Portugal’s Fernando Santos team had negative COVID-19 tests and will qualify for the match.
Portugal played a goalless draw against France in Paris on Sunday, and is ranked first in the group, being equal in points with the world champions.
Portugal team captain Ronaldo became the first European to score 100 goals in international men’s football matches when his team defeated Sweden in the last Nations League game in September.
Due to the quarantine, Ronaldo will also miss the Serie A match between Juventus and Crotone on October 17, and the Italian club’s first match in the Champions League group round against Dynamo Kiev on October20.
On Monday, Ronaldo posted a selfie with the Portuguese team on social media signed “United on and off the pitch!”
