An international scientific conference “Contribution of Magtymguly Fragi's creativity to world literature” held in Bishkek
On 23 October 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bishkek organized an international scientific conference on “Contribution of Magtymguly Fragi's creativity to world literature” and a presentation of selected works by Magtymguly.
The event, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker, was attended by deputy ministers of foreign affairs, education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic, heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, scientific intellectuals, experts, political scientists and media representatives.
The conference discussed aspects of Magtymguly Fragi's creativity and his impact on world literature and culture of the region. The participants shared their research and facts on how his poetry reflects the social and philosophical ideas of his time.
Particular attention was given to the International Forum held on October 11, 2024, in Ashgabat, which was attended by the presidents of 10 countries and heads of international organizations. Speakers emphasized the importance of the legacy Magtymguly Fragi as a symbol of uniting peoples based on humanism and justice, noting that his ideas form the foundation of the foreign policy of independent Turkmenistan and serve as a guiding principle for international cooperation.
The speakers also noted that next year Turkmenistan will celebrate 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality, opening up to new initiatives for mutually beneficial cooperation and sustainable development. This event highlights the relevance of Magtymguly’s philosophy in the current realities, whose works continue to inspire modern generations.
The conference included the presentation of a collection of selected works by Magtymguly Fragi translated into Kyrgyz. The book includes the well-known poems and works of the poet, which made his work more accessible to poetry of enthusiasts in Kyrgyzstan.
This publication represents an important contribution to the preservation and promotion of cultural exchange between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Additionally, the conference featured an exhibition of contemporary publications and an art exhibition demonstrating works by Turkmen painters, including paintings and photographs.
