Drawing the peace: the international contest of children's drawing invites
The international competition of children's drawing “Humanity within the war” invites children, teenagers of young men and girls at the age from 7 to 19, for participation in the project devoted to events of the Great Patriotic War.
As the organizer of the project the Italian association “Humanity within the war” acts with UNESCO support. Also one of project partners is the international social movement «Immortal regiment».
Make an application for participation in the competitive program schoolchildren of general educational and art schools, studios, circles, lycées, students of secondary special educational institutions and all other interested persons can.
The international competition of children's drawings is based on the historical story “What an amazing guy”, written by Ferdinando Pascolo. The novel plot tells about real stories of the simple Italian soldier at war on the party of the German armies and rescued from death by the Russian woman. This fatal meeting turned sights of the guy who suddenly realized that he did not want and could not be at war against other people.
In the book especially dramatic moment from life of the author when the hero questions are described: «My God, what I search here? It is not my earth, not my sky. What for we here have come, what we search here?». According to the writer, in memory of the Russian woman who has rescued the soldier, the sculpture of sacred maiden Maria has been created. The monument symbolizes grief of all mothers who have lost in that terrible war of the sons. On a pedestal words from the book are engraved: «weapon suffices. Enough for wars. Enough for tortures. Frostbite. Hanged persons. Death. Family. Work. That's all».
The project “Humanity within the war” urged to help to study to young community history at first-hand. In the center of attention is discussion of tragic events of the Great Patriotic War and a reminder to young generation about importance of non-admission of bloody antagonisms.
For participation in the contest it is necessary to be registered on the site of the project. Applications are accepted till January, 10, 2021. Each participant can submit for consideration the creative works at once in several nominations.
The international jury will hold an estimation of the sent drawings, and 200 best works will be presented at the children's creative exhibition in the Italian city of Udine. Also following the results of competition the photo catalogue including artworks of winners in different nominations will be made.
