FIFA President took part in a friendly match at the 2022 World Cup stadium in Qatar
Gianni Infantino, as part of a working meeting with the organizers of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, took part in a friendly match at the unfinished Al-Bayt stadium, TASS reports, citing the press service of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy of the 2022 World Cup.
- It is an absolute pleasure to play football in this amazing stadium where the best World Cup ever kicks off on November 21, 2022. This is a beautiful, truly football arena that breathes with the game. There is also a special local color such as the Arab tent shape and the patterns on the roof creating an incredible atmosphere. I have no words, the International Football Federation President said.
Qatar assured that the 2022 World Football Cup infrastructure is almost 90% ready to use. The Organizing Committee General Director noted that Qatar will now focus on promoting the tournament.
- Now our attention is shifting from the construction of facilities to the completion and detailing of operational plans, the preparation of services for fans. We will now also focus on promoting and covering the 2022 World Cup so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to visit Qatar and enjoy the unique World Cup, Al Khater said.
The World Cup in Qatar will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022. The tournament’s opening match will take place at the Al-Bayt arena with 60 thousand spectator seats.
