Turkmenistan Highlights Foreign Policy Priorities at Beijing Peace Festival

The 11th Peace Festival dedicated to International Day of Peace was held in Beijing Peace Park on September 20. The event, which has been celebrated annually since September 21, 2002, on the initiative of the UN, brought together many participants. The theme of the festival was defined by the slogan "Diversity and Dialogue: The Path to Achieving Global Peace and Development".
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in China actively supported the event organized by the China International Peace Foundation and the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation with the assistance of UNESCO. Among the participants were representatives of the Chinese government, diplomats, as well as heads of international organizations, including the League of Arab States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In his speech, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Parahat Durdyev emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability as a key aspect of the country's foreign policy. He noted that the messages of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi echoed Turkmenistan's efforts to strengthen trust and dialogue between states. He also presented Turkmenistan's initiatives at the UN platform, including the creation of the Group of Friends of Neutrality.

The festival included an awards ceremony for the winners of the sixth Youth Photo Contest. The event ended with a festive reception featuring dishes of national Turkmen cuisine. The festival was broadcast online on the UNESCO channel, which allowed a wider audience to become part of this significant event.
