Speaker of the Turkmen Parliament meets with the US Ambassador
On 12 September, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood on Thursday.
The American diplomat said she was honored to represent her country in Turkmenistan. During the conversation, the Ambassador was informed in detail on the progress of large-scale reforms in the country, as well as the implementation of major international projects with the participation of Turkmenistan.
The Ambassador of the United States of America was also familiarized with the structure and multilateral activities of the Turkmen parliament in the context of the ongoing reforms. In this regard, mutual interest was expressed in intensifying inter-parliamentary contacts in the legislative sphere, the Mejlis reported.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood assured that she would make every effort to further deepen friendly relations and bring them to a qualitatively new level.
Earlier, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received credentials of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan.
