Ashgabat to host talks with Afghan delegation: TAPI, TAP and railway projects


Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan Hedayatullah Badri headed his country's delegation on a visit to Turkmenistan on Wednesday, the ministry's press service reported.
A report on X says that the delegation will meet with Turkmen officials in Ashgabat to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in the construction of the TAP fiber-optic line, railway projects, as well as the practical launch of work on the construction of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) pipeline on Afghan territory.
On Tuesday, Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that preparations for the implementation of the TAPI project have reached the final stage and practical work will begin soon, Ariana news reports. Muttaqi noted that the TAPI project carries positive political implications for Afghanistan in addition to economic benefits.
In addition to TAPI, work will also begin on several other joint projects, including the Afghan-Turkmenistan Economic Corridor with the construction of railways and a dry port.
