Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Islamabad met the Plenipotentiaries of Sweden and Ireland


Turkmenistan's Ambassador, the doyen of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad Atajan Movlamov received courtesy visits this week from the new European ambassadors to Pakistan - Ireland and Sweden.
In particular, on 21 August, Movlamov met with Mary O'Neill, Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who recently presented her credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari as her country's first Ambassador to Islamabad.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan welcomed Mary O'Neill and congratulated her on her appointment. The two sides took the opportunity to discuss the political and economic situation in the region.
Movlamov informed Mary O'Neill about important regional energy projects. The Irish Ambassador, for her part, highly appreciated the initiatives of the Turkmen leadership to implement projects that will make a significant contribution to the economic development and prosperity of the region.
On 20 August 2024, the Turkmen Ambassador met with Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan Alexandra Berg von Linde.

During the meeting, the Turkmen Ambassador informed the guest about the activities of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad. The sides exchanged views on the situation in the region and beyond, reported the diplomatic mission.
