Astrakhan hosted a cultural event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy
Astrakhan hosted a cultural event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet of the East, Magtymguly Pyragy. The celebration, with the participation of representatives of the delegation from Turkmenistan, was organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan).
The event began with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Magtymguly Pyragy, located in the square of Astrakhan State University. Then a performance by a creative group led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan, Atajan Berdyev, took place, singing songs based on the poet's poems. Students from Turkmenistan studying at the Astrakhan State University named after V.N. Tatishchev recited poems by Magtymguly Pyragy in Russian and Turkmen.
The cultural event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations of the Astrakhan Region Ilya Vasilyevich Tropitsin, an artistic group headed by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdiyev, who arrived in Astrakhan on a creative visit, as well as students from Turkmenistan studying at the Astrakhan Tatishchev State University.
