Bayern vs Sevilla match - most attended since the start of the pandemic
The match for the UEFA Super Cup took place, in which Bayern's footballers beat Sevilla 2-1 in extra time, took place on Friday in Budapest.
This is the first match under the auspices of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which was held in the presence of spectators. The stands of "Pushkash-Arena" with a capacity of just over 67 thousand people were filled by a third.
The UEFA Super Cup match has become the most attended sporting event since the outbreak of the pandemic. As part of the Thank You Campaign, UEFA invited 500 healthcare professionals from Hungary to the match as a token of gratitude for their dedicated work during the pandemic.
Bayern have played for the fifth time in the UEFA Super Cup and have won the trophy for the second time in history. Sevilla took part in the match for the trophy for the sixth time, on the account of the Spanish club one victory.
Last season, Bayern won the Champions League for the sixth time in history, while Sevilla won the Europa League six times, setting a tournament record.
