At the Caspian Media Forum held on 16-17 August in Astrakhan, the information content platform “Caspian Today” was presented. The media platform will help overcome the information deficit and increase its accessibility, said Pavel Pautov, acting governor of the Astrakhan Region, at the plenary session of the forum, TASS reported.

The IX Caspian Media Forum is taking place in Astrakhan on 16-17 August. The event brings together journalists, representatives of authorities and public organizations from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, as well as Gagauzia (Moldova) and Uzbekistan. In total, more than 1,000 people are taking part in the forum.

“First of all, in the conditions of the global information war, it is necessary to counter the spread of a large amount of hostile content and outright fakes, and it is necessary to convey reliable information to a wide audience. In this regard, we would like to present the project of the international Caspian media platform “Caspian Today” and invite journalists from the Caspian countries to participate in its work. We believe that this unified content platform, adapted for international journalists, businessmen, and students, will help overcome the information deficit and increase its accessibility,” said Pautov.

According to him, the platform will allow users to view news in six languages, including Turkmen. The main page will display an overall information picture of the day.

At the Caspian Media Forum, it was also proposed to create a virtual online platform that would tell about the sights of the Caspian countries, help to learn about their culture. "I propose to create a virtual platform (about the culture of different countries - TASS note), starting with the countries of the Caspian Sea, and then gradually expand it (the number of countries). But the main thing is that the information should be reliable and accessible, so that a person can go in and find everything they need," said Artur Kan, director of the IT company Aqua Trio LLC and co-founder of the magazine "Ўзбекистон матбуоти" ("Uzbekistan Press"), speaking at the session "Digital technologies in art and media, erasing boundaries".

He explained that the platform could include video content, text files, virtual tours, and various online lessons. He noted that such a platform would allow “erasing boundaries between cultures.”
