High-Ranking Turkmen Delegation Visits TURKSOY Headquarters in Ankara
Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, as part of a visit to Turkey, met with the Secretary-General of the Turkic Council (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev on Tuesday, August 13.
During the meeting, the sides held a detailed exchange of views on joint activities within the programs "Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world" and "The Year of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi," the Turkmen Foreign Ministry press service reported.
An important topic of the meeting was the popularization of the works of Magtymguly and the cultural significance of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau within the framework of TURKSOY, UNESCO, and other international organizations.
The condition and prospects of cooperation were considered, and the fruitfulness of Turkmenistan's interaction with TURKSOY in preserving, studying, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Turkic-speaking peoples in the world was noted.
At the TURKSOY headquarters, members of the Turkmen delegation got acquainted with an exhibition of paintings and books dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen classic Magtymguly Fragi.
