On May 24, at the 9th International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan, Kanat Ryskanuly, Chairman of the Board of Directors, KDA International Consulting Company, Kazakhstan, made a presentation on a new investment project that could increase the export of Turkmen “blue fuel” to 60 billion cubic meters per year. As of today, it is proposed three pipeline routes under the project, capable of providing Turkmen gas exports to Kazakhstan in the amount of 10 billion cubic meters and to China – 50 billion cubic meters per year. – It is not just an idea, it’s a concept already discussed with all parties, Kanat Ryskanuly told ORIENT in an interview. There are four countries – China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan involved. The project already has investors; there are buyers who are ready to buy this huge amount of natural gas. Work on the project has been ongoing for three years. The project is not easy to be implemented due to its international status and it took time to agree on many issues. The final decision on its implementation will be made collectively, with the participation of all involved countries.
